Anupriya holds a BA Hons in Political Science from Miranda House, University of Delhi; an MA in Political Science from IGNOU, and an MSc in Sports Management, Politics and International Development from Loughborough University. Before completing her master's and pursuing her PhD in the UK, she worked as a freelance sports journalist in India. She holds the National Eligibility Test (NET) certification for teaching at the university level, awarded by the University Grants Commission (UGC), India. She is also the Executive Trustee of an NGO that works to empower Indian athletes from marginalised backgrounds.

Her PhD research focuses on the analysis of a Child-Rights-Based Approach to athlete welfare in India. It aims to explore and promote global south perspectives on safeguarding and athlete welfare, which can contribute to the development of a shared language of safe sport.

Anupriya's broader interests lie in issues surrounding social policy, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and athlete voice and advocacy.
