Sepehr (Sepi) did both his bachelor's and master's degrees in sport and exercise science with an ongoing interest in using exercise for promoting health. Following the field, his current research focuses on the effect of exercise on the immune system of patients living with axial spondyloarthritis, aiming to provide more accurate exercise guidelines that help patients improve their quality of life and manage their symptoms. He is specifically interested in the effect of exercise on the ageing of the adaptive immune system and the use of exercise for healthy ageing. Current projects that Sepi is involved in are looking at this phenomenon in rheumatic conditions, cognitive impairments, and cancer.
Sepi is undertaking his doctoral research in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences alongside his role as a Research Assistant, working with Professor Lettie Bishop.
