Katie attended the University of Essex where she achieved a first-class undergraduate degree in Psychology (2015-2018). Katie then completed her master’s degree in Health Psychology at the University of Nottingham, where her research project focused on the types of social support that are requested in online support groups for individuals with HIV/AIDS.
After working as a research assistant at the University of Nottingham, Katie joined Loughborough University as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences in 2023, becoming a Postgraduate University Teacher in 2025. Alongside this, Katie is conducting doctoral research into promoting healthy lifestyles for individuals with long-term health conditions. Katie is also the Doctoral Researcher Co-Lead for the Early Careers Network.
Katie’s main research interests are around long-term health conditions and how individuals can be supported to manage these and live healthy lives.
