Jack is a University Teacher in Biomechanics within the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University. His teaching focuses on undergraduate and postgraduate modules in biomechanics, with a keen interest in helping students apply scientific principles to real-world sporting environments.

Prior to joining Loughborough University, Jack was a Senior Lecturer in Biomechanics and Strength and Conditioning at Anglia Ruskin University, where he contributed to teaching, research, and student development across a range of sport science programmes. Before entering academia, he spent 11 years as a sport scientist with the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA), supporting coaches and players through the application of biomechanics, physical profiling, and performance analysis. Jack completed his PhD in Biomechanics and Strength and Conditioning for Golf at the University of Bedfordshire, where his research explored the relationships between force production characteristics and golf performance in highly skilled golfers.

Jack's teaching combines academic knowledge with extensive applied experience in elite sport. He has particular expertise in force plate analysis, athlete profiling, and the use of biomechanical data to inform coaching and performance enhancement. He is committed to developing students' practical and analytical skills, preparing them for careers across sport science, coaching, and performance support.

Jack's research interests focus on the application of biomechanics and strength and conditioning to improve sporting performance (particularly golf). He has published numerous papers in this area, with his PhD forming an impact case study for the 2021 REF which was rated internationally impactful / world leading. In the last two years, Jack has secured over £200,000 in research income and published 16 peer reviewed papers in academic journals.

Alongside his university role, Jack has extensive experience working within elite sport. He is a scientific advisor to the DP World Tour and the European Disabled Golfers’ Association. He also works as a strength and conditioning coach for England Golf within the male and female talent pathways.
