Experts in Sport: FIFA's new licensing model for sports agents

In the latest episode of the “Experts in Sport” podcast, host Martin Foster sits down with Sports Law expert and lecturer Dr Serhat Yilmaz, to discuss the recent regulation changes on licensing sports agents, as well as the consequences and reasoning behind them.

In the first part of a three-episode series focusing on sports agents, Serhat and Martin This tackle FIFA’s new licensing model, as well as the key changes of the framework.

Additionally, Serhat discusses the details behind the process of becoming a licensed sports agent.

Dr. Serhat Yilmaz is a Lecturer in Sports Law in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (SSEHS) at Loughborough University. He  lectures on various undergraduate and postgraduate courses including the Foundations of Sports Law, Sport Integrity, and Sport Policy, Governance and Law.

Serhat is also the programme director of the Professional Certificate Programme for Sports Agents, an executive education that he has developed. His research has been awarded funding from the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF) and UNICEF UK.

Serhat holds a law degree from Istanbul University, an LLM from the University of London (SOAS), Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) from the University of Law, and PhD in Law from the University of Westminster.
