This exciting new set of events will bring together the best academics from both universities and partner universities, as well as industry leaders and experts from around the globe. This event is all about debate, networking, sharing and challenging each other around complex, forward-thinking global issues.
19 December 2022: “Sport and the Metaverse”
This event will explore one of the most hyped buzzwords of 2022 – the metaverse. Led by MIT and Loughborough faculty, it seeks to demystify the concept, defining what it is and what it is not. Throughout the event, we will examine the early applications of the metaverse in sport as well as the emerging implications and issues, including health and wellness, data privacy and security, and sustainability.
As we enter a new phase of technological innovation, now is the time to ask: Can we build a better version of the Internet, and can sport lead the way and show what is possible? Join a cross-section of academics, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and business leaders to deliberate these and other questions about the future of the metaverse.
Location
This event will take place at Loughborough University London campus on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, The Broadcast Centre Here East, Lesney Ave, London, E20 3BS on the 19 December from 09:30 until 14:00.
