Boney completed his undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Physics at Loughborough University in 2023. His final-year project investigated scaling and critical behaviour using Monte Carlo methods of the two-dimensional Ising model, which developed his interest in computational modelling and simulation.
He is currently a PhD student at CREST, where he uses density functional theory (DFT) modelling to study defects and dopant interactions in CdTe/CdSeTe-based solar cells. His research focuses on understanding how dopants such as arsenic and selenium influence the properties of these materials.
