About us

Welcome to the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering at Loughborough University.

Our vision is to be the world’s leading integrated centre for built environment research and education, spanning the entire lifecycle of both buildings and infrastructure.

We rely on Architects, Urban Planners, Construction Managers, Architectural Engineers and Civil Engineers to shape the world we live in, from the design of buildings resilient to climate change, to the management of contractors during construction and the planning and maintenance of transport systems. This requires an understanding and appreciation of the various people and processes that contribute to the construction cycle - knowledge that you can only acquire by studying in an integrated School like ours.

Our School is dedicated to supporting an equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment – to create a better world, together. The diverse backgrounds, characteristics and opinions within our community are our great strength and are key to our pursuit of research, enterprise, and educational excellence.

We are committed to ensuring everyone within our community is fairly heard and represented. We pledge to address inequality and inequity, increase diversity – specifically supporting opportunities for under-represented groups – and ensure inclusivity. Our School is a place where diverse perspectives, cultures and values are accepted, appreciated, and celebrated.
