Andrew's PhD project focused on small field of view clinical gamma imaging with enhanced energy resolution. The future goal for this research is to enable intraoperative dual-isotope imaging for applications such as parathyroid surgery.
He has published two papers to-date, created a new energy correction (charge sharing) algorithm and designed and tested a range of paired (digital and physical) anatomical phantoms. He has also worked with Serac Imaging Systems Ltd. contributing to their innovative technology.
Many thanks to Andy's examiners Dr Dimitra Darambara (Institute of Cancer Research) and Prof Alexander Balanov.
