Additive Manufacturing Network

Loughborough University is home to a wide variety of multidisciplinary research into and utilising Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing, ranging from low-cost 3D Printing to pioneering industrial hybrid Additive Manufacturing addressing applications ranging from bioreactors to buildings.

The AM Network brings together colleagues from all Schools including disciplines such as arts, architecture, building and civil engineering, biology, chemistry, design, materials science, mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineering.

The network consists of more than 40 academics and research associates and many PhD students representing 6 Schools. The AM Network supports training and development for early career researchers and facilitates interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The AM Network contributes to the University’s High Value Manufacturing Beacon and has strong links to local, national and international partners from academia and industry. A wide range of current projects are funded by EPSRC, AHRC, Innovate UK, EU and industry.
