Founded in 1906, the English Association champions excellence in teaching and research while promoting the study and enjoyment of English literature, language and creative writing across all stages of education.
Fellowships are awarded to individuals who have made a significant impact on the subject. The Association’s more than 320 Fellows include leading writers, academics and educators, as well as professionals working across publishing, journalism, librarianship and related fields.
As recognised leaders in their discipline, Fellows support the work of the Association by sharing their expertise, raising the profile of English, and encouraging the next generation of students to pursue the subject at A level and university.
Siân is Professor of Literature, Politics and Performance and Head of English at Loughborough University.
