Develop your entrepreneurial skills and learn how ideas can be commercialised

The Your Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) offers a unique opportunity for Doctoral Researchers, Technicians or Research/Knowledge Exchange staff to gain ‘hands on’ insights into the world of business start-ups.

Launching in September, the YES23 programme will first deliver a series of online training sessions covering all aspects of starting a new business. Throughout October participating teams will hone their business ideas with online mentoring support in preparation to deliver their oral business plan pitches to industry experts at the end of the year. YES23 concludes with a showcase celebration event for all at the Royal Society in London in January 2024.

Loughborough University’s Doctoral College are offering funding and additional mentoring support for two Loughborough teams to enter the YES23 competition.

Eligibility

To apply for Doctoral College funding applicants must be, at the time of YES23 (Sep 2023-Jan 2024):

  • registered with Loughborough University as a Postgraduate Doctoral Researcher

OR

  • employed as a Postdoctoral Researcher or Research Fellow within the last 18months

OR

  • working at Loughborough University as a Technician
