Caroline was nominated by Professor Chris Gorse. Chris and colleagues will be working closely with Caroline strengthening international relations with a specific focus on professionalism, fairness, inclusion and respect.
As Professor of Global Engagement and Transformation – Built Environment, Caroline will be extremely well placed to engage with the University and School’s strategic priorities. The partnership will focus on ‘Creating Better Futures – Together’, this relationship clearly recognises the importance of the positive external influence and impact that CIOB and Loughborough University can have on the world around us and societal challenges.
Importantly, the outreach undertaken will recognise the global talent that exists and is needed to address sustainability, industry and societal challenges. Caroline’s passion for professionalism is already driving change, drawing on excellence from a diverse and rich international sector. Such engagement has strengthened a network which is having a real and meaningful impact on the industry and the lives of people around the world.
Caroline joined CIOB as CEO in 2019, responsible for the leadership of the Institute and is a force for positive change. Caroline has already boosted interdisciplinary engagement within the sector, extending the reach across professional institutions. She has worked with the Construction Leadership Council and major organisations across the world collaborating to strengthen the response to the Climate Emergency, through common Climate Action Plans. Furthering international relationships will strengthen the ability of society and the sector to respond to common goals. Together, CIOB and Loughborough University will enable and develop effective relationships that can act as drivers for a collaborative global response.
Caroline’s advocacy will be used to strengthen value chains. The act of recognising those making positive contributions to society is making a difference, especially with regard to EDI and professionalism within the sector. Caroline and the CIOB community provide leaders from diverse backgrounds with a platform of professional support. With Loughborough University’s world-class research status and facilities, together with the CIOB network, we believe that there is much that can be achieved, aligning capabilities for a sustainable global response. Having Caroline on the team at Loughborough will deepen a well-established relationship between the two institutions,
