A micro-site has been created for staff and students to find the details of all events taking place. It also features an online showcase celebrating current staff, students and alumni who run their own businesses, as well as links to resources, podcast episodes and further information about the work the University is doing on race equity.

The new Pro Vice-Chancellor for EDI, Charlotte Croffie, will kickstart events with a keynote talk on her role and plans for the University on 6 October.

LU Arts will be launching two projects. Graphic artist Nadina Ali will be working with the Afro-Caribbean Society and the Diverse Voices in Textiles research group from the School of Design and Creative Arts will be hosting several textiles workshops.

The Let’s Talk Loughborough podcast is also releasing a new episode. Hosts Jemima and Soph will speak to the Chief Operating Officer for the University, and the Ethnic Minorities Officer and Welfare and Diversity Officer from Loughborough Students’ Union about why Black History Month is important.

The Black History Month Parade will close the programme of events on 27 October. Staff and students are invited to walk the route around campus, reflecting on the month and sharing experiences.
