Hansson wins silver at FINA World Cup

Loughborough swimmer Louise Hansson continued her fine recent form to take silver at the FINA World Cup in Toronto.

The International Business Master’s student clocked a personal best of 55.0 seconds in the Women’s 100m Butterfly to add yet another medal to her growing collection.

Canada’s Maggie MacNeil claimed gold in 54.78, with Brazil’s Giovanna Diamante completing the podium with a time of 57.41 seconds.

Hansson’s swim made history as the 4th best on the all-time rankings.

The Sweden International has enjoyed another great year that included a stunning six medals at the 2021 FINA World Championships in Abu Dhabi.

Following the race, Hansson told Swimswam.com: “I wanted to give Maggie (MacNeil) a challenge and I knew it was going to be a tough final, but I raced how I wanted to so I’m really happy with that.”
