Graduation ceremonies Tuesday 19 - Friday 22 July

Due to the extreme temperatures expected in the region this week, particularly on Tuesday 19 July, we have put some additional measures in place for the University’s Graduation Ceremonies, which will take place as scheduled.

Although Graduation is a formal occasion, it is important for you to stay as cool as possible. Please wear lightweight, breathable, smart clothing. There is no need to wear suits, ties or heels – smart shorts and short-sleeved shirts are acceptable, for example. You may want to bring a loose-fitting hat to wear outside. Please remember to wear sunscreen.

Cool points

There will be air-conditioned cool points across campus for you to use.

Water stations

Please bring water with you. There will be water stations on campus where you will be able to refill or obtain fresh bottles.

Transport

There will be buses running between the University car parks and the venue.

If you feel unwell at any point, please ask one of our colleagues for help. We will have staff available at all key points across campus.

If you, or a member of your family who is due to attend the ceremony with you, are particularly vulnerable or your travel arrangements have changed, you can email graduation@lboro.ac.uk to ask to postpone your ceremony to December or next summer.
