14 September-24 September: Waste Panorama by Festus Adeyemi

Coinciding with National Recycling Week (20-26 September), this exhibition explores the challenges of waste management and aims to encourage the reuse and recycling of waste and single-use items like plastics, cartons and polystyrene. Repurposed items have been converted into pigments and ink to create the artworks on display to illustrate what can be done instead of sending items to landfill.

27 September-29 October: On Sculptors Drawings, curated by Phillip Lindley

An exhibition of drawings by a variety of distinguished artists who also work in three dimensions, including a number of artists working at Loughborough. The exhibition will highlight, as its predecessor Drawing Together did last year, the enormous value of looking at drawings in person.

5 November-3 December: Selene States Delineate: Patterning Bauhaus Dress from Die Neue Linie

An exhibition by American artist Selene States of fashions and installations inspired by the illustrated patterns of the Bauhaus journal Die Neue Linie. Funded by Bauhaus University and modelled after its design paradigms, the project explores the Bauhaus legacy in fashion.

3 December-early January: Sarah Selby

As part of her Digital Commission 2020/21, artist Sarah Selby collected first-person accounts from a sample of international students at Loughborough who have been impacted by the pandemic and the UK Border Regime. She is encoding their testimonies into synthetic DNA and embedding it into writing ink using DNA data storage. This ink will be used to write out the Loughborough University charter and sent to other universities that have also been impacted by the UK Border Control Regime in the form of pens.
