HR professionals needed for study on managing long-term sick leave post COVID-19

Human resources and people professionals are being sought to share their views on the effects of the pandemic on long-term sick leave and what the future holds in managing long-term sick leave.

Academics from Loughborough University, along with colleagues from the Universities of Nottingham and Birmingham, will conduct interviews with participants who can be from any sector and any size of business/organisation.

The research is part of the Mental Health and Productivity Pilots (MHPP) and the information gathered will help the team to understand how businesses can be supported in the future by policy makers, health providers and researchers.

Those taking part will be given information on how to access free support through the MHPP on managing mental health for workplaces based in the Midlands.

Loughborough’s Professor Fehmidah Munir, who is the project lead, said: “So much has changed in the past 18 months and businesses, whether small or large, will need to transform how they manage long-term sick leave in the future as there are new challenges ahead.”

To find how to take part, please get in touch with Professor Munir at f.munir@lboro.a.cuk or Dr Kate Godfree at k.godfree@lboro.ac.uk.
