Community organisations and groups in the area surrounding the Loughborough London campus are invited to apply for funding from the Community Donations Fund.
The University is accepting applications for funding of up to £1,000 for community projects within the London Boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and Waltham Forest.
The projects will contribute to the social, educational, cultural and physical wellbeing of the local community and should be specific, rather than funding towards running costs.
The London Open Fund is part of the University’s Community Donation Fund which sets aside a budget every year to provide financial support to community groups and organisations.
Ben Cole, Stakeholder Development Manager at Loughborough University London said: “We are glad to be able to support some of the local community organisations through the London Open Fund. We are looking forward to receiving applications from organisations and groups from the local area.”
Trowbridge Senior Citizens Club in Hackney Wick was one of the recipients of the fund last year with a project to provide IT sessions for its members. They added: “We believe you’re never too old to learn something new and we decided to organise some free IT classes for Over 65s in the local area. The Loughborough University London Open Fund supported us by paying for a tutor to deliver these sessions and they have been a great success. I would recommend any small community group in the local area to apply.”
The deadline for applications has been suspended.
