The 72-strong squad includes current Psychology student Morgan Lake, who will be competing in the high jump. Also selected is Loughborough PhD student Jessica Judd, who will contest the 5000m.
There will also be a strong University alumni presence in Qatar, with Jamie Webb, Jake Wightman, Beth Dobbin, Meghan Beesley, Jessica Turner, and Amy Allcock are all set to make an appearance at the Khalifa International Stadium.
British Athletics performance director Neil Black reserved a “special mention” for former Loughborough College student Martyn Rooney. Rooney, who has been picked in the 4x400m relay squad, will be taking part in his eighth World Championships.
Joining them on the plane will be 800m runner Lynsey Sharp, who trains on campus with UK Athletics.
Recognised as one of the key dates in the athletics calendar ahead of Tokyo 2020, the Championships will take place between September 27 to October 6.
