There’s fun for all at Loughborough Students’ Union Community Fun Day

Loughborough Students’ Union (LSU) is holding their annual community fun day on Sunday 19 May, from 12pm-4pm.

LSU run the event every year with the help of student volunteers who assist with the organisation beforehand and provide on the day support.

The day is set to be a fun-filled occasion with a wide variety of activities including animal petting, bracelet making and face painting.

The fire engine and donkey rides are back by popular demand, and there will also be a bouncy castle, a Punch and Judy show and balloon modelling available.

Garden fete games will be held on the lawns, including favourites such as the Coconut Shy and Hook a Duck.

There’s also an opportunity to practice your circus skills with LSU Fever or sit back and enjoy performances from the Hum Hai Hindustani dancers and other LSU Societies.

Admission to the event and nearly all activities are free of charge, making sure it is an inexpensive and fun day for everyone in the local community.

Action Executive Officer, Joel Brocklehurst said “This is a fantastic opportunity for members of the local community and the student population to come together.

“We will have a lot on offer on the day and volunteers in our purple Action Hero T-shirts will be on hand to help.”

Everyone involved with the Students’ Union is looking forward to the day, as it is a chance for both students and the community to come together, have fun and enjoy themselves.

The event will be held on the lawns between Loughborough Students’ Union and the Hazelrigg and Rutland buildings and is accessed via the Epinal Way entrance.

If weather conditions are poor the event will be held inside the Students' Union building.
