Loughborough shortlisted for four Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards

Loughborough University has been shortlisted for four Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards – in the Outstanding Marketing/Communications Team, Outstanding Estates Strategy, Workplace of the Year and DataPoints Merit Awards categories.

The awards, known as the THELMAs, celebrate the higher education sector’s leadership, management, financial and business skills, and showcase the extraordinary innovation, teamwork and commercial acumen of higher education institutions.

Loughborough’s nomination in the Outstanding Marketing/Communications Team category is for the #LboroFamily Golden Ticket campaign, which engaged new Loughborough students on A-level results day, generating a multitude of shareable digital content.

The shortlisting in the Outstanding Estates Strategy category recognises an initiative to improve the processes involved in managing the University’s facilities. The changes implemented as a result have reduced administration and job completion times.

The nomination for Workplace of the Year relates to Loughborough University London, where, since its inception two years ago, the focus has been on creating an environment to attract, develop and retain a high-performing, committed and engaged workforce.

The University has also been shortlisted for the DataPoints Merit Award, which is compiled by the Times Higher Education after analysis of the data collected from universities across the UK as part of the magazine’s World University Rankings.

Richard Taylor, Chief Operating Officer at Loughborough University, said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for these awards, which recognise the breadth of outstanding activity that takes place on campus and the work of my colleagues.”

The THELMAs ceremony will take place on 22nd June at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, with more than 1,000 guests expected to be in attendance, including politicians and senior sector figures, as well as academic and university staff from around the UK.
