Colloquium on LGBTQI+ Research
Sharing, Supporting and Sustaining our Current and Future Research
This exciting colloquium of LGBTQI+ research aims to bring together colleagues across the University to discuss the challenges and impacts of conducting this research in today's academic environment.
Supporting research in LGBTQI+ studies is more important than ever in our current cultural moment. LGBTQI+ rights are increasingly vulnerable given national and international challenges to diversity, equality, and inclusion. Issues that are framed in terms of ‘culture wars’ can have pronounced material and psychological effects, raising issues of wellbeing and even survivability for LGBTQI+ people and communities.
In this colloquium/networking event, we aim to bring together colleagues working on LGBTQI+ research across the University to discuss our current research in these areas and the challenges we face. By sharing our different disciplinary perspectives, methodologies and examples of best practice, we hope to provide a forum for innovative interdisciplinary conversations.
The event is open to all Loughborough University staff and postgraduates and is being held in the Brockington building. No registration is required.
The Colloquium organisers are grateful to have received funding from the Vibrant and Inclusive Communities Network Fund to support this event.
