  • Completing my PhD partially concurrent with full-time employment in two different areas

What does International Women in Engineering day mean to you?

  • It’s a day to reflect on and celebrate the contributions of pioneering women engineers (historic, present and future) and to acknowledge the strides yet to be taken towards an inclusive industry.

What advice do you have for women thinking of a career in Engineering?

  • Attend careers fairs, seek work experience opportunities and network with those in the industry.

  • There is a wealth of information online, including the WISE Campaign, ‘My Skills My Life’, an interactive game that helps to narrow down the engineering disciplines to pursue.

  • Continuously update your knowledge by revising, practising and being inquisitive about how things work.
