Mark Gatiss and Johnny Flynn star as John Gielgud and Richard Burton in their infamous Hamlet rehearsal period in the 1960s.
Filmed live on stage at the National Theatre, 'The Motive and the Cue' is a new play by Jack Thorne, directed by Sam Mendes.
1964: Richard Burton, newly married to Elizabeth Taylor, is to play the title role in an experimental new Broadway production of Hamlet under John Gielgud’s exacting direction. But as rehearsals progress, two ages of theatre collide and the collaboration between actor and director soon threatens to unravel.
Tickets are non-refundable unless the screening is postponed or cancelled. Subject to availability, card payments only can be taken on the door.
