Screening and Q&A - Game On: The Unstoppable Rise of Women’s Sport
- 23 October 2023
- 6.30pm-8.30pm
- EHB110

Join alumna and women’s sport activist, Sue Anstiss MBE for a special screening of her documentary, 'Game On: The Unstoppable Rise of Women’s Sport'.
The documentary, produced by alumni duo Sue Anstiss and Jack Tompkins, celebrates progress and success, and a range of questions are discussed throughout the documentary.
Why do we expect women and girls to play sport in revealing clothes when men can remain modestly covered, and why has it taken so long to finally address the issue of women playing sport in whites? Why do schoolgirls drop out of sport at twice the rate of boys, and why does women’s sport still not have the funding and investment of men’s?
It is told through the eyes of sporting legends and pioneers – and includes a number of Loughborough alumni as well as other references to the University.
This special screening event will give you the opportunity to meet the producers, ask questions during a Q&A, and to watch the documentary on a big screen alongside peers. Refreshments will be provided.
There will be a number of special guests joining the Q&A – names to be announced soon.
Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Everyone is welcome, including children and people outside of the University. If you book and can no longer attend, please ensure you cancel your space.
