Fruit Routes Spring Walk
- 15 March 2024
- 2pm-3.30pm
- Meeting point: Barefoot Orchard
A scenic stroll around the fruit orchards and green spaces of campus with Fruit Routes Project Artist Mita Solanky and Sustainability Assistant Lottie Ambridge. This will showcase the locally grown fruit we have access to here on campus as well as encouraging spending time in nature to improve wellbeing.
Fruit Routes is an edible route of hundreds of fruit and nut trees and bushes on campus. You will be able to enjoy the experience of blossom bathing, allowing your senses to open and wake up to spring. Along the route, you will learn about what we can forage through the seasons.
The walk will start at the Barefoot Orchard, located next to the Paddock and (almost) opposite Pilkington Library. Look out for the Fruit Routes banner near the Geography Weather Station.
We will be walking along running routes and natural paths, so please wear suitable footwear.
Accessibility
Barefoot Orchard is on level ground. The route is not always on structured paths but is mostly flat with alternative routes for sloping areas. If you have any specific accessibility requirements then please let us know in advance by emailing Sustainability@mailbox.lboro.ac.uk.
