Freedom School Online: Build Your Reputation and Your Community
Loughborough University is pleased to offer an online ‘Freedom School’ for Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) postgraduate students and Doctoral Researchers based in the UK.
Freedom Schools are powerful educational spaces that aim to equip historically marginalised learners with the tools to facilitate their own empowerment.
This virtual event follows on from a successful series of in-person pilot events last year, in collaboration with Ladders4Action. These women-of-colour led events developed meaningful staff-student partnerships to make universities more equitable spaces.
The event will consist of two workshops in which BAME students and researchers will learn with thought leaders and peers, who will guide them in developing a strong online presence and connecting with others in their institutions and beyond.
