Close-up of Professor Sheryl Williams.

Miranda:

Sheryl has created a process to support students, particularly Black students who may have been struggling with their studies. I know she works tirelessly to support others and puts her heart and soul into everything she does. I admire her energy and her kindness and she is an inspiration to be around.

Sandie:

Sheryl is an inspirational and innovative teacher. Her enthusiasm and positivity are endless and she is always willing to help others. She was promoted to Professor this year and has just been elected to Council. Despite all her achievements, she is always humble and is the first to acknowledge the kindness and support of others.

Patricia:

Sheryl keeps you grounded. She is very direct and considerate. She does an enormous amount of work to help our student succeed. I am completely bowled over by the length she goes to support our students and children interested in STEM subjects. Caring is a large part of her DNA. She always has a smile on her face and her Jamaican heritage is always present. Speaking to Sheryl always brings back a little bit of the Caribbean sunshine to our encounters.

Denise:

Sheryl is inspirational, warm, funny, caring, and intelligent. People love being around Sheryl. She is passionate about students and students being empowered to be in an environment where they can flourish. Sheryl's Early Intervention Initiative has been taken up by several Schools and is an important initiative that will improve the grade and career progress of countless students from racialised minority backgrounds.
