Precious Kaijuka Mwongera

Dr Precious Kaijuka Mwongera (Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering, 2020) is a Senior Manager at Microsoft in Kenya. She also volunteers her time on a regular basis in support of the University’s Alumni Advisory Board, despite the fact that she lives in a different time zone which means that online meetings often take place quite late into the evening where she is.

She has participated in the recruitment and conversion process for undergraduate applicants. This year she took part in an online advisory panel for applicants who are based in East Africa. She provided advice on travelling to the UK to study and explained the benefits they would gain from choosing Loughborough as their destination. Support like this, from alumni such as Precious, is important as it helps applicants to overcome their concerns about leaving their homes, leaving their country, and travelling a long distance to an unfamiliar place.
