Lynda Nyandu

Lynda is absolutely fantastic. She has started an advice and support scheme for Black parents to encourage their children to go to university and to pursue a STEM degree in particular. This is fabulous and has been all her own initiative.

We were appalled to hear from our Visiting Professor Nira Chamberlain that not only he was discouraged from pursuing mathematics by his teachers but his sons were too. That is a tragedy. Initiatives like Lynda’s are needed to encourage these youngsters: “This is for you too, and you are good at it.”
