Bradie McDaid, EDI Engagement and Communications Officer
The primary focus of my role is to craft compelling and accessible communications that drive strategic change. I design variety of materials, including newsletters, website content, external and internal announcements, all designed to foster understanding and support for EDI initiatives. My role also focuses on facilitating meaningful engagement and dialogue to actively involve employees, students, leadership, and external partners in purposeful conversations through workshops, forums, and events and ultimately build a strong sense of community around our shared goals.
My professional background is rooted in the Higher Education and Charity sectors, where I developed a strong foundation in student support and community building. In my previous role as an Advice & Wellbeing Coordinator (EDI), I provided comprehensive guidance to students on a range of issues, offering one-to-one advice, advocacy, and delivering impactful wellbeing campaigns. As manager of the Student Opportunities team, I was responsible for leading and developing the team, overseeing a diverse portfolio of student groups, volunteering programs, and sports club activities. This involved providing strategic oversight, fostering student leadership, and enhancing the overall student experience through a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities.
I am driven by a passion for creating inclusive environments and ensuring that all voices are heard and valued. My goal is to leverage my expertise in strategic communication and community engagement to advance our strategic aims, fostering cultures where everyone feels a sense of belonging and can reach their full potential. I am committed to continuous learning and applying innovative approaches to bridge divides and champion equitable outcomes.
