Ethnic Minorities Doctoral Research Community

The Ethnic Minorities Doctoral Research Community is a student-let network and community of practice that supports BAME doctoral researchers throughout their journey with a focus on progression, pathways and careers. The community spans both Midlands and London campuses, providing opportunities to meet, socialise, present and share work.

Our objective is to continually improve student experiences and increase sense of belonging for students or colour within the Doctoral College, as we work towards racial equity in all areas of the University.

Membership is open to doctoral researchers from both London and Midlands campuses, who identify as belonging to a ethnically minoritised group.

The groups aims to provide opportunities to:

  • Meet like-minded doctoral researchers in a safe space to discuss ideas and how to empower each other through the direction of the network.
  • Get involved with CV-enhancing community-oriented projects, talks and workshops.
  • Explore progression and career pathways.
  • Build a powerful platform for DRs of colour.
