Background

Yasasween gained his BEng(Hons) Mechanical Engineering Degree (First Class) from University of Wolverhampton (UK) in 2014 and was awarded the best academic performer among the entire engineering faculty.

In 2015 he joined the Orel Corporation Ltd as a Research and Development Design Engineer in R&D department in Innovation Centre. He gained extensive knowledge and skills in CAD, CAM, injection moulding, metal stamping, metal deep drawing and additive manufacturing etc. In 2017, he was promoted as the design team leader in the R&D department and guided the entire 10-15 design engineers under his supervision. He completed lots of individual projects while contributing to group projects in the industry.

He was awared the international excellence scholarship from Anglia Ruskin University to pursue the MSc programme in Additive Manufacturing. He was awarded the best academic performer award and Distinction degree from the entire postgraduate engineering faculty of Anglia Ruskin University in 2019.

He started his PhD degree in 2020 in Loughborough University while collaborating with North Carolina State University and NWI in (USA). Currently, he pursues his research on 3D orientation distribution function of nonwoven fibres.
