Background

Yagiz Kayali took his BSc in mechanical engineering from the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association with an honour degree. After he took his BSc degree, he joined the University of Manchester, where he took an MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering Design subject.

Starting from November 2020, Yagiz joined the Mechanics of Advance Materials group at Loughborough University. He is currently studying on fibrous networks under Dr Emrah Demirci, Dr Andy Gleadall and Professor Dr Vadim Silberschmidt's supervision for his PhD degree.

His research focuses on geometric modelling of fibrous networks and numerical modelling strategies, particularly finite element methods. He has more than 4-year industrial experience in the defence and aerospace industry.
