Background

Rachael is a final year PhD student at the CREST, researching in the PV-Materials and Devices group.

Her primary focus is understanding the role of the halogen in thin film CdTe solar technology.

Rachael obtained her Masters in Chemistry at the University of Southampton, with a year industrial placement producing and characterising thin film superalloys with Ilika Technologies LTD, in a project funded by innovate UK. Her Masters project was focused on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging (NMRI) of droplets in microfluidic devices.

Rachael’s PhD is funded by the CDT in New and Sustainable Photovolatics.
