Background

Hazel obtained a first-class honours MEng degree in Aerospace Engineering at Southampton University in 2002. She then worked as Stress Analyst in the Defence industry before starting her PhD at Loughborough in October 2018.
 
Her research interests are predictive models and maintenance, simulations, frameworks, manufacturing, production, cyber-physical systems and the industrial Internet of Things.

Title of thesis: A Decision-Making Framework for Creating Cyber-Physical Systems of Sufficient Fidelity

The motivation behind the research is to enable predictive systems to be built more efficiently and economically so that their benefits can reach all areas of the UK industry.
