Key roles and responsibilities
- Support the department’s Additive Manufacturing (AM) teaching and research activities.
- Provide technical support to the students and staff who choose to use AM techniques for components for their projects.
- Supervise an AM research lab with a range of AM equipment; including SLS, SLM SLA, Ultrasonic Consolidation (UC) and FDM; processing a variety of nylons, resins, plastics and metals.
- Support the schools’ AM teaching lab with a suite of low-cost, FDM and SLA 3D printers, used by students for their training and project needs.
- Prepare and conduct tours of the Schools’ AM facilities for visitors including commercial and academic visitors; for prospective students during the open day activities that take place throughout the year.
