I have a BSc is in Theoretical Physics (University of Patras, Greece), and an MSc is in Pure Mathematics (University of Essex, UK).
In 2021, I obtained a Postgraduate Certification in Academic Practice from the University of Suffolk and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I also hold Qualified Teacher Status.
I have been teaching since 1992. I taught Mechanics and Mathematics at levels 3 and 4. I taught Further Mathematics in sixth form colleges from 2016 to 2019. I worked for the University of Suffolk as a Mathematics and Statistics Support Adviser from 2019 to January 2022.
Since the early years of my teaching career, I have been interested in educational technology. This interest evolved from designing and developing online resources, GeoGebra activities and interactive questions over H5p, to research at Mathematics Education Centre
I am a part-time PhD student at Mathematics Education Centre. My supervisors are Dr Ian Jones and Dr Paola Iannone. My thesis focusses on how to improve the structure, interaction, and feedback of online university resources, incorporating research findings to facilitate effective mathematics learning.
I am also a Research Associate contributing to two externally-funded research programmes: (i) Feedback and Cognition: What is the Role of Prior Knowledge? (Royal Society); (ii) Improving Conceptual Understanding of University Mathematics Through Comparing and Contrasting Students’ Mathematical Writing (Spencer Foundation).
