Ben is Technical Director and Head of R&I at Hilson Moran, responsible for leading all R&I activity and running a team of specialist R&I focused consultants working both within HM developing new products and services and externally with manufacturers and academia.
His role is to ensure a high quality and consistent approach is applied to all work produced across the business while developing innovative and progressive designs.
Ben has over 25 years experience within the building services industry. His main area of expertise is in building physics and computer modelling where he is highly skilled in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Dynamic Thermal Modelling (DTM).
He is the current chair of the CIBSE Building Simulation Group. In 2021 he received the CIBSE Carter Bronze Medal for research on domestic overheating as part of a team including members from Loughborough University and Inkling Partnership.
