International Scholarships

Academic Schools and Departments offer scholarships of up to 25% of the tuition fee to self-funding international applicants on the basis of academic merit. The scheme is available to taught postgraduate and research students in most schools.

Doctoral College Development Trust Africa Scholarships

Full fee scholarships may be available to new full-time international taught postgraduate students from Africa. Academic excellence is the key criterion for the choice of our scholarship winners.

Alumni Bursaries for Loughborough International Graduates

A 20% bursary off the full cost of the programme, to all self-funding full-time international postgraduate students who are not in receipt of any other University award and who obtained their degree, undergraduate or postgraduate, from Loughborough University.

Commonwealth Scholarship Commission Master’s Scholarships

Every year the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission offers a number of scholarships to Master’s students from overseas.  The scholarships are aimed at high-quality postgraduate students who have the potential to enhance the development of their home countries with the knowledge and leadership skills they acquire.  All subject areas are considered, provided they focus on knowledge and skills that are likely to have a significant development impact in the student’s home country. 

Applications are accepted via national nominating agencies and invited NGO.

Many schools and departments offer bursaries to eligible categories of students, and scholarships on a competitive basis.

Scholarships of £5,000, set against tuition fees, awarded on the basis of academic merit to students who are a permanent resident of one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Korea, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, USA or Venezuela.

Postgrad Solutions Ltd is offering 15 postgraduate bursaries each to the value of £500. If you are starting a postgraduate course in the academic year 2017-18 you are eligible to apply for this bursary. These are open to students from anywhere in the world. Payment of the award will be made direct to your institution, and will be discounted from your fees as appropriate.

Studentships

Our Graduate School and Academic Departments offer a range of competitive studentships, for students wishing to undertake a PhD. Eligibility criteria applies.

Commonwealth Scholarship Commission PhD Scholarships

Every year the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission offers a number of scholarships to PhD students from overseas.  The scholarships are aimed at high-quality graduates who have the potential to become influential leaders, teachers or researchers in their home countries, and whose proposed research topic has been described to the satisfaction of the selection committee as having a developmental and leadership focus. 

Awards are normally offered for three years, with an initial tenure of 22 months, extended following confirmation of upgrade to PhD status. 

Applications are accepted via national nominating agencies, invited NGOs, and selected universities in developing Commonwealth countries. Nominating bodies are encouraged to identify their own priority areas and nominate candidates accordingly.

Funding is available in many schools and departments for doctoral study funded through the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
