Your offer conditions may ask you to submit two satisfactory references. These should be academic references, preferably from your most recent place of study. If it is impossible for you to obtain academic references, a reference from your employer may suffice.
It is your responsibility to submit your references to the University, or arrange for your referees to send them to us direct. The University will not request references from your referees.
You may find it helps to give your referee some guidance on what they should include in your reference, and how to submit it to Loughborough University. To do this, you can download this Reference Template, fill in your details, and pass it to your referee.
References should be signed and on official letter-headed paper, and can be submitted in the following ways:
- Uploaded via the on-line application portal and clicking on "View/Upload Documents
- Scanned and emailed to email@example.com
- Posted to: Postgraduate Taught Admissions, Rutland Building, Loughborough University, Loughborough, LE11 3TU
Alternatively we will accept an email reference, provided it is sent from your referee’s official university or employer email address. These should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
The University will seek to verify references if there is any doubt as to their authenticity.
