Love Food Hate Waste

Food waste is a major issue. We throw away 7.2 million tonnes of food and drink from our homes every year, the majority of which could have been eaten. It's costing us £12bn a year and is bad for the environment too.

On Campus we segregate our food waste in self-catered halls and are trailing it in two catered halls. Food waste is also segregated in catered halls dining hall kitchens. This food waste is then sent for anaerobic digestion instead of going to landfill saving both money and the environment.

However we want to reduce our food waste before we recycle it.
