Travel and transport

Loughborough University is committed to improving transport for its staff, students and visitors and promoting more sustainable forms of transport.
Transport is a significant source of CO2 emissions. Every time we travel in any form of vehicle, be it car, train, bus or airplane we make a contribution to climate change as a result of the CO2 emitted.
By choosing to travel more sustainably you can make a huge difference, significantly reduce your personal carbon footprint and help reduce the impacts of climate change. It also sets an example for others in the local community to follow.
But sustainable travel doesn’t just benefit the environment. Active travel such as walking and cycling can be a great way to build exercise into your day. Travelling by sustainable means can also save you money!
These pages provide you with basic information on the different ways you can travel to the University, details on our Travel Plan and our Car Parking Management Strategy.
