Accessing Support from Student Services

The different teams within Student Services offer a broad range of support to students. Below is information about what support we offer and how you can access it.

Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity

  • If you would like support for your Wellbeing or Mental Health, our Mental Wellbeing Team support students with a range of Wellbeing and Mental Health issues such as homesickness and relationship difficulties through to more challenging situations such as a Mental Health diagnosis and the impact this has. The Wellbeing Referral form helps us identify what support is right for you.
  • If you have any questions related to disability, for example Disabled Students Allowance, exam support, eligibility and diagnostic assessments, please complete the Disability Support Query Form.
  • Advice for students about money matters (e.g. student finance, hardship funds, budgeting, dealing with debts), Housing rights (e.g. contracts, deposits, repairs) and Immigration advice for international students (e.g. student visas, dependent and graduate visas, permission to work and other immigration matters) are provided by our Student Advice and Support Service (SASS).
  • If you want to report or get help for an incident or a situation that has occurred you can use our Reporting Portal. You can do this for yourself or someone else. You can also use it to report an incident you are concerned about that has happened on campus. Our dedicated advisers can provide support around issues such as sexual violence, safeguarding, racism, substance misuse and consent.
  • We have a range or workshops to support your personal development and wellbeing. We recommend that you look at these to see if the support you are after is there before making a referral.
  • We run a wellbeing drop-in sessions. you can find more information about these on our events page.

For situations that present imminent danger please call 999.

For health advice call 111 or 999 for serious concerns.

Careers Network

The Careers Network is here to help you make the most of your time at Loughborough as you plan for your future. We provide information, advice, coaching and opportunities, helping you to develop your skills and career prospects. Our services are available to students, graduates, doctoral researchers, and University Staff. Students can meet employers at our Careers Fairs and events, such as employer presentations, skills sessions and Q&As, and can talk directly to recruiters to hear their career stories and insider advice.

Student Success Academy

We offer a wide range of personalised opportunities and tailored programmes designed to help students unlock their full potential during their time at university through the Student Success Academy.

We provide support with your personal, academic and career success. Our programme of support includes Academic Success Coaching 1:1 and group coaching to support your studies, our Future Talent Programme which provides exclusive opportunities for our black and South Asian students to secure placements and Personal Best, our exclusive development framework for Loughborough students to help you balance your academic, personal and professional skills.

Academic Language Support

We run courses to help you enhance your writing and study skills. These include helping you improve your Academic writing, STEM and for dissertations and projects.

We also run courses to help develop your English language skills if English is not your first language.

International Student Experience

The International Student Experience team is here to support all international students settle into life in Loughborough and help you to create a home away from home. We run lots of events throughout the year, including in vacation periods.

We can also answer any questions you might have about life here in the UK such as where to find the food you love, how to access the cheapest train tickets or how to find social events on campus.
