Using the Library
Welcome to the Using the Library section of the website. Here you'll find information about joining the library, borrowing and returning books, the types of study spaces available and how you can book them. Details about computers, wifi and printers within the Library is also available as well as information on how to access other libraries if needed.
Library Sensory Map & Visual Story
Our brand new Sensory Map and Visual Story are tools designed with inclusivity in mind. They will help you choose the perfect place to work, study, or relax.
Using sensory icons and a key describing what to expect in that area, the map highlights sensory elements across all library floors, so that you can quickly find the environment that suits your needs, whether that’s a group or collaborative study area, silent study space, individual quiet study space or a dedicated space to regulate.
Our Visual Story also provides a detailed guide of what to expect in the library, including study areas, types of furniture, facilities and accessibility.

Booking display space in the Library
The Library is a hub of student activity on campus and we have a variety of spaces available which Loughborough staff and students can book for displays and stands. Further information on how to do this can be found by clicking on the link below.
Library Induction module on Learn
The Library team has created a Learn module which will provide you with essential information to help you navigate the Library's systems and resources. This will help you save valuable time looking for information for your assignments. We also offer tours of the Pilkington Library building, to help you find your way around.
Enrolling onto the Library module does not require you to complete any tasks and the module is not assessed.
