First year students coming to study at Loughborough - as a potential Undergraduate student, if you make Loughborough your firm choice and apply prior to the end of July, Loughborough University will guarantee you a room in University Hall accommodation. Late applications will be considered according to availability. If you are unclear about this statement then please contact us.
If you are accepted at Loughborough as an Insurance or Clearing student, you will be able to apply for accommodation from 1 September. Halls accommodation is not guaranteed, however we promise to help you secure accommodation either on campus or by referral to an off campus provider.
At Loughborough we provide an innovative online room reservation system for Undergraduate students. Once you have your academic offer and you have made Loughborough your firm choice, you will be able to reserve a room in hall from mid May (Unconditional students) or early June (Conditional students). You will receive an email from the Student Accommodation Centre to advise you when and how to apply.
You can choose where you want to live from a selection of room types in a variety of locations. We will hold your reservation for your room type until after you have received your A level results in August. You will receive a registration pack containing your University ID number, use this number to pay the room bond online, this becomes a damage deposit and the room you chose in May/June is yours!
If the room of your choice is not available at the time, or you prefer to wait until after your results to reserve your room, you can log a preference for accommodation from May/June using the more traditional route. Log your preferences online and we will allocate you a room in August once your place at Loughborough is confirmed. Please note - although many rooms do come back available after the A Level results, we cannot guarantee that your preferred room type will be available. Our accommodation team will use them as a guide to allocate you a room via our computerised allocation system depending on availability.
Please be aware that the online room reservation system closes at the end of July. After that date only the preferencing option will be available.
