Campus Living

What we provide

Loughborough has 17 halls of residence - 7 catered halls and 6 self-catered halls owned and/or managed by the University Campus Living Staff. We also work in partnership with other service providers who manage 4 self catered halls on our behalf.

Everyone has different requirements and the University is able to offer a wide range of accommodation to suit your needs.

Catered halls - this means

Over 40% of our stock is catered accommodation - Loughborough University has traditionally always had catered halls.  We have been voted the top English University for student experience for six years running and our dining halls play a large part in contributing to the ‘Loughborough Experience’.  The Student Union are very committed to the catered Hall experience, encouraging the University to continue with this tradition and culture.

If you stay in catered accommodation you will take your meals in the dining hall provided for that hall. The meals are provided in a self-service style cafeteria. Menus are designed to meet the needs of our student customers. Hall dining

Our catered halls offer different let lengths & different meal packages. Further information is available as you browse each catered hall.

Not sure which catered hall to choose - view our 'why go catered' video

Self catered halls - this means

Self-catered accommodation offers a degree of freedom, you can choose to cook for yourself or eat out at one of the many venues around campus. Give yourself a break - buy a diners+ card as this saves you from cooking, giving you more time to study and have fun. You will have your own room in a communal flat, sharing a kitchen with up to 8 other students. Further information is available as you browse each self-catered hall.

Every study bedroom has standard furnishings and equipment including shelving, work study table, chair, wardrobe and curtains - some rooms have been upgraded with a 4ft bed.  Free Wi-Fi and wired internet access in all rooms.  We have a range of different room types:

All halls have access to launderette facilities, bike storage, common rooms with TV and vending machines. Free contents insurance provided by Endsleigh (see FAQ - Will I need to arrange insurance..).  Please see our halls of residence for further information and check out our Hall of Residence 360° views and videos
