Once you have your academic offer and made Loughborough your firm choice, you can apply online for accommodation from mid May (unconditional students) or early June (conditional students), you will be sent an email when you are eligable to apply.
To use the online process you must first register by entering your details and creating a username and password to login. Further information can be found at How to Apply for Your Room as an Undergraduate Student. Any offer of accommodation will be sent via the email recorded with your contact details on your application to Loughborough. This offer must be viewed and accepted online, no paper copies will be posted out.
Two options are available to you:
If you have applied through UCAS, you can reserve a room type in your chosen hall. You will contract to a room, then pay your room bond in August once your academic place is confirmed after your results.
If you have not applied through UCAS or prefer to wait until after your results to reserve a room, you can register 3 preferences online from early June. Accommodation is limited and can only be offered once your academic place at Loughborough has been confirmed and you have been issued with a Loughborough University Student ID number (eg. B******). We may not always be able to offer you your first choice of accommodation, your preferences will be used as a guide by our accommodation team.
You should carefully read the Accommodation Offer, Licence Terms and Conditions, Hall Information Booklet and Fee Sheet - found on the Fees, documents and forms page. Together these form your contractual agreement to stay in Hall. The Licence Agreement must be accepted by the date specified and a room bond deposit (£160 for 2013/14) must be paid within 8 working days of your academic place at Loughborough being confirmed (when you receive your Registration Information containing your Loughborough University ID number).
You are also required to complete an online Living in Halls Inducation - you will be emailed when this is due to be completed (usually late August).
Failure to do so may result in your accommodation being allocated to another student. If you still wish to be considered for accommodation after your offer has lapsed, you must contact the Student Accommodation Centre immediately to request your application to be reinstated.
If you cancel an offer prior to the licence start date but intend to continue with studies at Loughborough, cancellation charges will be levied as per the Licence Terms and Conditions. Cancellation requests from students after the start of the licence period who will be continuing their studies at Loughborough will not normally be accepted and you will be legally bound to pay your halls fees for the full contractual period of your Licence.
The only exception is in respect of students who leave the University, or in other genuinely compassionate circumstances - further evidence may be requested and administration charges may apply. Please read the Licence Terms and Conditions for further information.
In all cases, an Accommodation Cancellation form should be completed and submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org for consideration.

Your accommodation offer will be sent to you by email, therefore it is important that you let us know of any changes to your email address. The email will contain a webpage link which will enable you to accept the offer online. You will need your online username and password to view the offer.
Your room bond deposit has two purposes:
It is used as a security deposit. When we offer you a room in Hall, you are asked to accept a licence agreement and contract to pay your deposit within 8 working days of your academic place being confirmed. You will receive and Registration Pack containing your Loughborough University ID number which should be used when making your payment - an email will also be sent at this time to remind you. (Unconditional students should expect to receive this by end July, Conditional students will receive this after the A-level results are released).
It is then held against any charges or damages to your room during your stay in Hall. It will be returned in part or in full within 30 days after the end of the Hall Licence Agreement. Please note that should you fail to take up occupation of your room, an administration charge may be levied. Please see your Licence Terms and Conditions for full information.
If you have already reserved a room online, you will receive an email following the release your results in August advising you to pay your room bond to secure your accommodation.
If you have registered a preference for accommodation, we will be in a position to offer you a room once the University has received confirmation (from UCAS) that you have met the entrance requirements for your course and are officially registered as a student - please allow up to 2 weeks to receive your offer before contacting us.
If you have an unconditional offer, you can apply online for accommodation from mid May. If you are a conditional entry student, you can apply online for accommodation from early June. An email will be sent to you to confirm which day your course allows you to apply from.

If you are accepted via Insurance or Clearing, you must contact the Student Accommodation Centre from 19 August to register your request for accommodation.
We guarantee to offer accommodation to all students who made Loughborough their first choice University, and who applied prior to 31 July. If you are a late applicant, we anticipate that we will be able to offer accommodation (subject to availability) however you may not hear from us until a few days before you are due to arrive. This is due to our allocation process as we are constantly offering accommodation right up to the last day.
