Hello, I’m Sarah Beardsley, one of the Wellbeing Advisers for the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences.

I joined Loughborough University as a temp in 2008 with the BHF National Centre for Physical Activity & Health, based in the Sir John Beckwith Centre for Sport. I moved into the Study Support Team in the Schofield Building within Student Services in 2013, and then in 2018, I joined the First Contact Team. I completed a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Sherwood Institute, and jumped at the chance to work within the Student Wellbeing Team here on campus.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • To provide guidance, advice and support to students on wellbeing issues.
  • These may include but are not limited to, disability support, mental health support, medical issues, financial support, dyslexia and other specific learning differences, emotional wellbeing, and attendance issues.
